Rupat Island is the new Bali “Gods Island”


With more then 17 kilo meter long beach, solid white sand, located in a strategic location cross to the Malacca Strait, and with its natural condition in which no exploration yet for its potential tourism industry makes this Rupat Island become a great opportunity for investing or exploration of its economic resources.

Some people call this beach as “a new Bali Gods Island” due its long and its white sand.

Rupat Island with its famous beach, White Sand Beach also called as Long Sand Beach in North Rupat situated in Bengkalis District of Riau Province got serious attention from the government to be set as the new tourism icon in Riau Region. Indonesian central government puts the North Rupat Island became one of the new locations of the existing national tour in Indonesia after the success of the tourism island "Bali Gods Island". Hopefully with the inclusion of North Rupat Island as a national tourism could make investors to invest by developing or exploring the tourism potential industry in Rupat Island.

Tourist attraction is one of the icons in order to promote and improve the economy of a region.

The nearest airport to reach the Long Sand Beach at North Rupat is Pinang Kampai Airport. The airport located in Dumai City. From Dumai we need to take a sea transport to the location. By sea transport will need approx 2.5 hours to reach North Rupat where the White Sand Beach situated.

Mayor of Dumai, Mr. Zulkifli A.S. said it will be very beneficial if Rupat Island declared as the national tourist areas, especially when Dumai has become an industrial zones, it would be very grateful when they combined. According to Prof.Dr.Windu (tourism consultant from University of Gadjah Mada) expressed "Rupat Island has been set into national tourism development master plan in 2010 along with 56 national and 217 regional tourism areas in Indonesia". His team has conducted a direct observation to the location and the result was it is very potential and promising from Rupat Island natural resources. "We must explore the potency of this tourism with both Province budget and State budget" he said.
